NOVA Study I is a 17-week research program into how the body adapts to thermal contrast therapy and structured recovery. We're recruiting 40 RBSC and Polo Club members to help us prove it.

Who we're looking for

40 RBSC or Polo Club members ready to commit to the full 17 weeks.

Active RBSC / Polo Club Members

Open to current Royal Bangkok Sports Club and Polo Club members only.

Adults Aged 30–65

Participants must be between 30 and 65 years old.

All Genders & Fitness Levels Welcome

No prior experience with sauna, cold exposure, or recovery protocols is required.

Able to Commit Weekly

Participants must be able to attend three sessions per week over 17 weeks.

Ready for Medical Clearance

All participants must complete medical clearance before starting. NOVA can arrange this through SOMA Health.

Frequently Asked Questions

RBSC or RBSC Polo Club members aged 30–65 in general good health. A brief pre-study health screening is required to confirm eligibility.

17 weeks total. Three sessions per week during Block 1 (weeks 2–7) and Block 2 (weeks 11–17), with a washout period in between. Plus baseline and final blood draws of roughly one hour each.

No. Participation is fully complimentary — you receive a WHOOP device to keep, 36 coached sessions and a comprehensive blood panel at no charge.

Your individual data remains confidential and is used only to produce your personal recovery profile. Aggregated, anonymised data may be used for research publication, with your prior consent.

Yes. You may withdraw at any point without penalty. We ask that you notify our research team so we can close out your record appropriately, and that you return the study-issued WHOOP.

The start date is still to be determined. Enrollment closes once we reach 40 participants — we'll contact everyone registered with the confirmed date once it's finalised.

You're welcome to wear your own WHOOP during the study — we just need consistent data capture. Either way, you'll still receive a complimentary WHOOP to keep at the end of the 17 weeks.

Yes. At study end, you receive a personalised report reviewed by our medical team, with your baseline and final biomarkers, HRV patterns, and actionable next steps.
